Megan’s Bus, ‘Azul’

Megan’s VW Bus, “Azul”, was a beacon of hope in the endless devastation of the LA fires in 2025.

AP Photographer, Mark J. Terrill was in a helicopter after the fires calmed and spotted the blue bus parked in the Pacific Palisades, seemingly unharmed amidst hundreds of burned homes. Mark’s photo instantly went viral and my friends at Volkswagen of America caught wind of the situation, taking matters into their own hands by restoring Megan’s bus to better-than-new.

Once the restoration was complete, I joined the Third Story Films crew in Malibu to photograph the reveal of Azul to Megan, just miles up the beach from where it survived the fires of the Pacific Palisades and greater LA area.
